Now in its third year, In Control's Health programme will
provide the support and expertise you need to meet the challenges
of taking forward personalisation. In Control offers a range of
specific specialist skills and knowledge, drawn from a community of
expertise developed over several years. In particular, In Control
seeks to ensure that expert consultants with personal experience of
living with ongoing health conditions, in addition to their
specific area of expertise, are integral to our work. We have
developed partnership relationships with leaders in support
planning development, policy and research, evaluation, and
co-production. In Control is a strategic partner with the
Department of Health Personal Health Budget Pilot and a member of
the Pilot's advisory Board.
The government is driving forward its commitment to expanding
the use of personal budgets for people of all ages within both
health and social care. We can help you balance limited resources
and funding with the need to give individuals and families more
choice and control in their lives, to achieve improved planning,
decision making and health outcomes.
The benefits

Some comments from our members: "Thank you for
last week's training and the previous sessions. They have all been
well-run and thought provoking enabling us to take the time to
discuss and explore quite complex topics in a safe way."
"I feel everyone's contribution was valued and I feel
clearer"
What's on offer?
Membership of In Control's health work is aimed at being fully
responsive to your local context and your stage of development of
personalisation. We have created:-
Modular training and facilitated, collaborative workshops, to
share the learning to date and to kick start, root and clarify the
purpose, history and processes of self-direction in health.
We have a range of tried-and-tested workshop days, geared to
each stage of development of personalisation in health, and can
also create your own unique tailored events.
We can provide on-site dedicated support from our expert
advisers who will attend meetings and events or act as 'critical
friends'
We offer mentoring for project leads, and for people taking
forward the development of personal health planning.
You can make use of In Control's independent role to gather
feedback from local staff and people using personal health
budgets; and to collate key messages and learning from that
feedback to support improvements of local systems and practice.
We offer facilitation and development of "co-production" or ways
to best work together and capitalise on the skills and knowledge of
everyone.
The above are some examples of what's possible. We would be
pleased to talk with you about your ideas and suggestions and can
tailor a programme for you. This could be for the whole year or for
one day, or anything in between!
Cost:
Our annual standard programme cost is £5,500 plus VAT, which
would, for example, enable you to make use of up to three days of
our time, in your local area, in ways to be planned with you, and
have four places at a national learning event, and discounted rates
on further in depth on site support days. One day's input would
cost £750 plus VAT and expenses.
