We have launched an exciting new service for members of Stay
Connected - webinars!
We will be hosting regular events on key topics in relation to
personalisation, meaning that you will be able to get access to
cutting edge information from the sector all without having to
leave the comfort of your office.
This new service will enable delegates to save the time and
expense of travelling to an event. They will be able to participate
in short, focused online sessions involving leading people in the
personalisation field. Delegates will even have the opportunity to
ask questions afterwards!
A number of dates have already been secured for the next few
months. Some of these will be open access, however a number will
only be available to members of our Stay Connected network.

This session will focus on the latest sector developments and
provide evidence on progression and suggested action for
improvement. It will give an outline of the role of Think Local,
Act Personal and the latest tools and resources available to
organisations to help them move forward with personalisation.

Community Fund Holding

John Waters, research and evaluation lead for In Control
Communities need to 'play a bigger role in supporting themselves
and others' according to Think Local, Act Personal and the
Coalition Government has a vision which 'does not simply look to
the state for answers to the issues we face, but outwards to
communities'. So how can community engagement and contribution be
achieved in an effective and sustainable way?
In this session, John Waters will outline a new concept from In
Control - Community Fund Holding. This new approach puts public
money in the hands of communities so they can achieve an agreed set
of outcomes.

This webinar will prove useful to organisations wanting to move
forward in personalising their services. It is aimed at first line,
middle and senior managers and will help them to identify and begin
to address the changes that are needed to ensure that person
-centred approaches are embedded into day-to-day practice and
people using services have choice and control over how they are
supported.
Checking the results of personal budgets
19 January 2012 - 10am to 10.30am
John Waters, research and evaluation lead for In Control
Local authorities and providers need to demonstrate the
difference that personal budgets are making to people's lives and
to put in place independent processes to check that outcomes are
being met.
POET (Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool), developed by In
Control Lancaster University is the most developed and actively
used tool for checking the success of personal budgets. This
session will demonstrate how POET can enable organisations to
review their delivery of self-directed support; identify good
practice and areas for learning; inform strategic planning and
increase local accountability.
Personalisation - Back to Basics*

This webinar will help participants to understand what
personalisation really means and how it can bring about lasting
benefits for the people who use their services, for their local
community and their organisation. It will bring the core values of
personalisation alive and provide history behind the
personalisation agenda while ensuring an awareness and knowledge of
the policy and practice context.
Personal health budgets

This webinar will explore how personal health budgets are
progressing including good practice and challenges and will look at
what needs to be done ahead of the roll out for continuing health
care in April 2014.
