People who are already receiving NHS Continuing Healthcare will
also have a right to ask for a personal health budget from April
2014. Clinical Commissioning Groups will also be able to
offer personal health budgets to others that they feel may benefit
from the additional flexibility and control.
Building on our experience of working with our member
authorities to pilot and roll out personal budgets in social care
we are now also supporting our members to think about the
system-wide changes required to introduce personal health budgets
and potentially integrated budgets involving social care, education
and heath funding.
This is a fast changing area of policy and practice and we are
