Children and Young People

In Control's Children's Community of Change programme started in 2007. Over the past eight years we have worked with over 80 children's services and have members from across local authorities, health services and provider services.

Our members are all at very different stages of implementing self-directed support and extending personalisation for children, young people and their families. Together we form a vibrant network of children's services committed to developing and sharing practice in order to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.

The In Control Children's Community of Change programme membership is growing fast, as are the numbers of children, young people and families using personal budgets across social care, health and education.

There is increasing evidence of the positive impact working in a self-directed way has on children and families.

We are proud to be able to announce that In Control has just been granted Department for Education (DfE) funding to complete further research on the impact of personalisation on children, young people and families.

In addition to membership we also offer bespoke support to local areas, including sub-regional and regional events. Please see Children's Community of Change Programme membership for more information.

If you would like to have an informal chat about how our Children's Community of Change programme could help you, please contact Nic Crosby, Programme Lead, or your regional representative.
