Our Building Stronger Communities programme is focused
on the role of local authorities and how they build stronger
communities with older people and disabled adults and children,
particularly within the context of transforming social care and
personalisation.
We are currently working with:
- Hartlepool Borough Council
- Shropshire County Council
- Croydon Council
- Blackburn with Darwen Council
- London Borough of Tower Hamlets
- Newcastle City Council
- Northumberland Care Trust
Under this programme, there are three areas of work:
A model of community well-being
An exploration of some of the factors that might enable people
to actively contribute to their community, and how the local
authority might influence and shape this.
This is just one approach to promoting community well-being and
can be used as a basis for supporting a wider range of community
building approaches. We will be working with our members to develop
and refine our Community Fund Holding models over the coming
months.
Understanding the cost and impact of
change
A community outcome framework to evaluate the cost and
effectiveness of community fund holding initiatives.
