What We Do

At In Control we're committed to creating a fairer society where everyone needing additional support has the right, responsibility and freedom to control that support. In fact, we were the pioneers of self-directed support and for nearly a decade now, we've supported more than 400 organisations nationally to transform their services and deliver personalisation.

We partner with local authorities; user-led organisations; government and civil servants; elected members and paid staff; commercial companies; charitable and not-for-profit organisations; as well as working directly with people who need support (and their families).

Our work includes:

Focused action - to develop, test, motivate and support new practice and cultural change for self-directed support - and to make self-directed support happen in communities and in local authorities.

Critical reflection - evaluating the success of self-directed support based on how it's really working for people who need support.

Learning together - helping to build communities and networks for shared learning and partnership, by working across agencies, with local and central Government, within communities and other organisations, and directly with families.
