Gaynor joined Mencap in 1997 within the Learning and Development
team, co-ordinating the administration for their national training
programme. During 2004, she was seconded to support In Control.
Gaynor's role included the administration of the first pilot
programmes of its self-directed support model which took place in
six local authorities.
Gaynor then became more involved with In Control during the
second phase of its work whilst still seconded by Mencap and she
has seen In Control grow into a registered company and charity. She
is now employed by In Control directly supported by her colleagues
Wendy Kellett and Caroline Jowett at In Control's Support
Gaynor manages the administration function for In Control, she
also supports the Personal Outcome Evaluation Tool (POET)
programmes and 'partners in policy' making courses.
