More than 2,000 people across the country have now benefited
from a Partners in Policymaking course. To find out the difference
that it has made to their lives we have launched a survey and here
are some of the early findings.
- 100% of people felt the course helped them to develop their
skills and knowledge
- 97% said it helped them to gain confidence
- 97% said it helped them to plan a positive future
- 97% have used the things they learned on the course in their
lives
- 97% have used their newfound skills and knowledge to help
others
- 90% are still connected to other participants through support
networks
- 93% said the course enabled them to stay well
Some of the general comments we have received so far,
include:
- I have done so many courses but this one is exceptional in
terms of the quality, the impact it had on my daughter's life and
the impact it consequently had on the whole family. I've gone on to
do countless hours of voluntary work locally and and nationally.
Most importantly the direction of my daughter's life is now totally
committed to personalisation, to independence and to choice which
would not have happened without the course
- The course was truly the most engaging, inspirational and
meaningful learning that I have ever participated in. The network
that followed helps to keep me strong, supported and most
importantly informed
- Quite simply it changed my life. It changed my direction and I
have now devoted a huge amount of time to supporting other people
to achieve their goals
When we asked Partners what they had gone on to achieve
following the course, we got the following feedback:
- Gained full-time employment
- Became an advocate
- Runnning a forum
- Became a national councillor and trustee for a charity
- Set up a community interest company to promote inclusion and
support for families
- Set up a local charity and user-led organisation
These are fantastic results that really show the power of
Partners.
