The Inclusive Community Experience

In Control is proud to support the second ICE (Inclusive Community Experience) conference.

The conference will be taking place at Ribby Hall near Blackpool, 3-5 February 2013.

For several years a small group of highly committed people have helped to organise the national inclusion conference which celebrates the skills and gifts of everyone.

This three-day experience will focus on building and being part of a real community. Participants will be invited to join in a host of workshops and to learn from others what it takes to build a community. This definitely isn't a typical conference, it's about being part of a movement built on the foundation of friendships and relationships and the moto that - together we are better!

Full details of the agenda can be found in the attached flyer.

Workshops will include:

  • Building communities from the inside out
  • Just enough support
  • Local area coordination
  • Come Dine with Me
  • Personalisation Inside Out
  • How to do more with less
  • Moveable Feast
  • The next BIG thing from personalisation
  • Solutions Circles
  • Bake your own support plan
  • Our community has talent
  • Heart to Art
  • How successful do you really want to be?
  • Personalised Patchwork
  • Circle Time
  • Ready, Steady, Cook

The event will be hosted in an inclusive community where you will be supported to cook, eat, live, learn and laugh together. There will be some serious community building by day and some great entertainment by night.

Last year's event was a huge success with 220 people taking part.

Who should attend?

Everyone is welcome to attend - individuals, personal assistants, support workers, team managers, community workers, directors, teams of staff, CEO's - the list is endless!

How much does it cost?

The conference costs £135 per person and this includes two nights accommodation, workshops, entertainment and food.

This year the organisers hope to have a very small number of subsidised places for people who are unable to attend because of hardship.
