A new network has been established on NHS Choices aimed at
creating a virtual space where people can share experiences, find
information, ask questions and raise issues in relation to personal
health budgets.
There are already lots of topics posted on subjects including
personal health budgets finance, care packages, transition, state
benefits, continuing care and independent user trusts.
The forum is open to everyone and can be accessed at

This community is just one aspect of a host of partnership work
that In Control is carrying out with the Department of Health to
support their personal health budget pilot programme. We are
also co-leading the 'Care and Support Planning Process' workstream,
which involves several primary care trusts (PCTs) participating in
developmental work that explores the critical factors that
contribute to an effective care planning process and how that can
be implemented successfully, staying true to the purpose.
Furthermore, work is also underway to consider how integrated
outcome measures might be incorporated into both outcome setting
and review and become part of the feedback loop for individuals,
strategic commissioners, local communities and chief
executives.
Work in partnership with the Eastern Region Strategic Health
Authority is also progressing well and more than a hundred people
have agreed to come together to explore how the drive towards
personalisation in health can be sustained through the transition
to clinical commissioning groups and beyond.
