Partners in Policymaking courses start in Walsall and Hartlepool

This week our 'All Together Better' course started in Walsall.

This free course is for disabled people in Walsall and their families.

'All Together Better' aims to give people the knowledge, skills, confidence and self-esteem to ensure a better future for themselves and their loved ones.

Topics on the course include:

  • Exploring the history of how disabled people have been supported
  • Understanding how the health and social care system works
  • Getting the right support
  • Making change happen locally and nationally
  • Participants will have the chance to meet other people who are leaders in the disablity rights movement and be connected with a strong network of families working together across the country.

The course is being run by In Control and has been funded by Walsall Council enabling participants to attend for free.

A similar course is also starting in Hartlepool next week.

'All Together Better' is part of a suite of family leadership courses offered under the umbrella of 'Partners in Policymaking'. Partners in Policymaking and associated courses help people to understand how the health and social care systems work, organise meetings and present questions without getting frustrated. All courses aim to help find solutions to improve people's lives and give participants the confidence to work in partnership with services to enable them or their loved ones to have choice and control over their lives.
