Latest NHS Personal Health Budgets newsletter now online

NHS England has just published the latest 'Personal health budgets 'Update' Summer 2013.

This edition includes the latest updates on what is happening in the field of personal health budgets in the NHS including:

Personal health budgets are coming your way:

After a successful pilot programme, personal budgets are being introduced in the NHS across England. Starting first in NHS Continuing Healthcare, by April 2014 those eligible will have the right to ask for a personal health budget including a direct payment, including those with a child receiving NHS continuing care.

Free support programme for the NHS:

To help NHS services across England implement personal health budgets, NHS England is offering Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) a support programme that builds on best practice and other information gained during the pilot and includes training programmes, self-assessment tools and all the latest guidance.

Promotion of the results of the latest National Personal Budget Survey by In Control and Lancaster University.

And a summary of the new direct payment powers for the NHS with the National Health Service (Direct Payments) Regulations 2013 coming into force.

This edition also includes a round up of what resources are available on the NHS' Personal Health Budgets website and what's new in the personal health budgets toolkit.
