In Control works with Council for Disabled Children and NHS to provide free events on personal health budgets for children

In Control is working in partnership with the Council for Disabled Children (CDC), to deliver a programme of support for NHS England and other health partners about the implications of the Children and Families Bill and associated NHS Mandate commitments, including the implementation of personal health budgets for children.

This programme of support will include a series of events designed to provide an introduction to the reforms affecting children with special educational needs and/or disability as well as examining:

  • The implications this has for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and other parts of the health system;
  • The implementation of personal health budgets and how approaches might differ between adults and children;
  • The specific components of the legislation together with discussion about practical ways of meeting the associated duties.

Five regional events will be held at the following locations and on these dates:

The events are free to delegates and will run from 10am until 3pm with lunch provided. You can book your place at one of the events by using the links provided above.

Following these events, In Control and CDC will take the outcomes from the discussions and use them to inform future support to ensure we are responding to what is needed. We will also be running a range of additional programmes of support with CDC to continue to help CCGs and other parts of the health system to work toward implementation of personal health budgets.

If you have any specific questions related to these events please contact Anna Gardiner,, in relation to the events in Birmingham and London and Caroline Jowett,, in relation to Leeds, Taunton and Gatwick.
