Free event - Plan or be planned for

A free training day is being offered to individuals,  families user-led organisations, voluntary and third sector organisations.

The training - taking place on 19 March in Accrington, Lancashire - is an interactive support planning session which will give people the tools they need to make positive change happen for themselves or for people they support.

The agenda for the day is follows:

9.15am: Tea/coffee and registration

9.30am: Introductions

9.45am: An overview of the history of personalisation, the values driving the agenda and how self-directed support works in practice

11.00am: Break

11.20am: Support planning on a local level - this session will explore why being focused on good outcomes can make all the difference and will look at how people can really get to grips with developing high quality support plans for people

11.30am: Interactive support planning - a fun session to get everyone thinking much mmore widely about how self-directed support can work in practice and why it is so much more than being simply about the money (personal budgets)

1.00pm: Lunch

1.45pm: Interactive support planning continued

3.00pm: Break

3.15pm: Solution circles - demonstrating a great problem solving tool

4.15pm: Round-up and evaluation - what's been learned and what else do you need to know

4.30pm: Finish
