Families needed to help with children's evaluation tool

In Control has been funded by the Department for Education to develop a simple and easy way for parents, young people and professionals to record their experiences and the outcomes of having a new single Education Health and Care Plan (set to be introduced to replace the statement for SEN over the coming two to three years).

To do this we are going to be working closely with a group of family members and young people. However before we start this work we need some help from families to help us develop the evaluation tool.

We have put together a set of different outcomes and experiences and we are looking for people to have a look and give us some feedback on the most important things on the list to them. The whole process should take no longer than 10 minutes. The list has been drawn up based on previous discussions with parents.

It is really important that this piece of work is driven by parents, children and young people so we would be grateful to people taking the time to contribute.

To take part, please click here and follow the instructions on the page to indicate the things most important to you on the list.

We will be trialling this evaluation work in six areas in the first year and then expanding it to a further 10 by the second year with a view to it being made available nationwide. We will post regular updates on this piece of work on our website.

If you would like to know any more about this piece of work, please contact John Waters at john.waters@in-control.org.uk
