Attend My Life ICE 2014 for free with In Control

The Inclusive Community Experience (ICE) 2014, being held from 26 - 28th January in Kirkham, near Blackpool, is a conference with a difference providing delegates with a unique experience, focusing on building communities, working out solutions to some of the most pressing social and economic challenges, achieving better outcomes, and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.

And this year, In Control is sponsoring a number of places as part of the North West Regional Programme we are running in partnership with ADASS and TLAP to enable people in the North West to attend for free.

Unlike the traditional format of conferences, ICE is much more creative and interactive, where delegates are invited to take part in a whole host of workshops, learning from others about building community and how to build your own 'wealth' as well as unique events such as a 'Come Dine with Me' experience and the chance to showcase your talents. This conference is not about focusing on big name guest speakers but instead focusing on you in a much more inclusive event.

The conference is aimed at everyone who works within social care including: people who need support; personal assistants; support workers; parents and carers; professionals; and public, private, voluntary and third sector organisations.

Places at the 3-day event normally cost £145 per person (including accommodation).

But this year we are sponsoring a limited number of places for people in the North West to be able to attend the event for free.

We still have some places left, but these are filling fast.

If you want to be in with a chance of securing one of these remaining free places, make sure you email Laura Bimpson via laura.bimpson@in-control.org.uk with a brief explanation of why you feel you deserve a place and how you would benefit from attending no later than 6th December.

Just wondering if you have ever had a deafened person who is trying to sort out a social enterprise raising awareness of needs of those who have an acquired deafness / deafblindness at your events? Being deafened myself, I have needs of support workers in work, in life and everywhere, which would include access to your event. Luckily there is a Speech to Text Reporter who could do it who lives close by in Poulton le fylde. Please Email me (above) if you think I could give a different flavour to your event! :)
