The Adult Social Care Programme
The Adult Social Care Programme provides support for local authorities working to personalise support for citizens using adult social care. The programme enables member authorities to form regional and national networks for mutual advice and support. In Control provides specialist expertise through on-site support, induction and leadership events and national and regional seminars. In Control is particularly keen to give authorities the opportunity to promote and showcase learning and best practice. Follow the link below for more information.
Latest News: Adult Social Care Events
We have now concluded the summer 2010 programme of national and regional seminars. These were based on learning from the 'Total Transformation programme' which we ran in 2007-9. The seminar programme for this summer included events on
social work and the workforce,
safeguarding and
evaluation (two events). See the Adult Social Care Events link in the left-hand column to go to pages with video, presentations and notes from some of these events. We will be adding to these resources over the coming weeks. We would like members' views on priorities for future seminars. Any help or examples of innovative practice very welcome.
We are currently planning the next Leadership and Induction Event for those new to Self-Directed Support. This is provisionally scheduled for 16 and 17 November at Kent's Hill Conference Centre in Milton Keynes.
Statistics: help needed
In Control is (among other things) a lobbying organisation. We have a strong set of ethical beliefs that inform our work, and we believe passionately in truly personalised support. We can only lobby effectively if we have accurate and up-to-date information. To get this we need all local authorities to help us keep our stats for people with Personal Budgets up to date. To do this link through to our simple on-line form below. Thanks.
